Teachings

The Teachings

From scripture to conduct — the ground his teaching stands on.

01

Sanatan Dharma

Swami Ji's teaching begins from the position that Sanatan Dharma is not a set of beliefs to be argued over but a way of living that has been tested across millennia. His discourses return again and again to conduct: what a person does when no one is watching, and whether their daily life matches what they profess.

02

The Vedas & Upanishads

Having completed his Acharya degree in Vedic education at Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, he reads from the source rather than from commentary alone. The Vedas, the Puranas and the Upanishads are treated as living texts — quoted in Sanskrit, then opened out in plain Hindi so that a listener without training can follow the argument.

03

Tapasya & Discipline

His own practice is the clearest teaching he gives. Through the month of Shravan he performs the Maharudrabhishek of Lord Shiva for some fourteen hours a day while keeping a vow of silence. It was this austerity, sustained year after year, that first drew hundreds of devotees to the temple in the rains.

04

Seva as Sadhana

Service, in his teaching, is not charity performed after worship — it is worship. The Anna Kshetra, the Ved Vidyalaya, the Gaushala and the free hostel for poor children exist because compassion that stops at feeling is held to be incomplete. Real compassion, he says, means understanding what the body, the mind and the soul each need.
