Siddhpeeth Shri Dakshin Kali Mandir

Considered a centre of worship for a happy and prosperous life, Dakshin Kali Mandir is said to hold powers that can turn even death. Those who pray to the Goddess here are said to receive good fortune and a life free of disease and injury.
The temple stands amid the Nilgiri hills with the Ganga flowing at its lap in Haridwar. A Dakshin Kali temple of this standing is said to exist in only two places in India — one in Kolkata, and this one in Haridwar. Bhairav, a form of Lord Shiva, himself guards it, and the shrine rests above a kund held to possess special power.
According to the accounts of local people, Guru Kaamraj — a devotee of Goddess Dakshin Kali and a follower of Lord Shiva from Kolkata — brought the Goddess's idol out from the sacred chamber and established it on Neel Parvat. Since then the idol has remained in this temple, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Special puja is performed through Navratri.
